City Festival Olatu Talka

  • 1 De Alderdi Eder Parkea Donostia, Spain (map)

Olatu Talka festival was created in 2010 to promote San Sebastian in the competition for the title of 2016 European Cultural Capital.  The festival was a success and Basque city became a cultural center of Europe for the first a time. Locals loved the idea of modern urban festival and decided to make it an annual event. The format of the festival changes every year. People of Donostia define content and logistics of the festival. Throughout the year, they send their suggestions and ideas to the organizers of Olatu Talka, who choose the best ones and determine where and how concerts, competitions, workshops, flea markets and gastronomic fairs should take place. As a result, within the framework of the festival, residents and guests of the city were able to participate in the filming of the video about San Sebastián, be photographed for the Basque Country tourists study and play roulette in the city hall building, which was originally built as a casino. There is lots of interactive events in the program, so it makes sense to register in advance on the festival's website: http://www.olatutalka.eus/es/inscripciones.
